Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

last week

Last week I went to my very first golf tournament (Northern Trust Open). I have this odd idea in my head where I want to do (almost) everything at least once. Going to a golf tournament was one of them. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. When do you get to be several feet away from professional athletes AND be standing inside a $250,000 annual membership country club? I am finding it strange that I am now craving to go to Pebble Beach to see their golf course and not to eat some Monterey clam chowder..

bored and hungry, I took some random pictures..

rodarte fall 2012

Lately I've been toying with the idea of cutting my hair short and having that tousled look.
I love how angelic the makeup and hair style (and those stars!) look.

it's my darlin'

I live vicariously through it's my darlin'. I love to layer but you can only go so far in layering
when it's pretty much always sunny. And I need a real reason to buy rain boots

dominos magazine!!!

Have you heard that Dominos is coming back on newstand!? Oh this made my heart jump with joy. I was actually sad when the magazine folded in 2009. I am glad that I kept a lot of the older issues (must find them) since I normally throw away magazines a month after. Although it's not the actual full magazine, I am still glad. I feel like the magazine world is missing a good home inspiration magazine. I really liked Architectural Digest, but about 95% of the magazine is just not my style. And Dwell is great, but it's wayy too modern for me.  Woo-hoo, now if Blueprint wants to come back I'll be pretty, pretty happy.

---------------------

While I was sick last week, I decided to make a goal of reading all the Newbury Medal winner books from 1980s to the present. That's 31 books total. Last year I made a goal of reading 50 books, I felt short of just 5 books (mind you, I read a lot of random books that are sometimes not of substance). So I am pretty sure I will succeed in my Newbury Medal book mission. And who doesn't love kid's books? My first pick is Jacob Have I Loved by Katherine Paterson. Here we go....
