happy thanksgiving!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.

To me Thanksgiving means feasting on some good food. I always find it funny how I love a Thanksgiving meal but would never cook or order what I associate with Thanksgiving outside of this holiday. So today I will be filling myself with some turkey and stuffing (plus all the other goodies). I find cooking on holidays to be highly stressful so I will mostly be outside of the kitchen. I will be making the salad (oh, the job of the salad maker) and I decided on a very simple romaine lettuce, red onion and lots of avocados tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Oh and I forgot, I will also be making the corn casserole which (believe it or not) is even easier to make than the salad. Yum!

& my shop hasn't been updated in awhile. The daylight is so short and I can never find the time to take pictures. But after this weekend, tons of new items will be posted. I love everything that will be posted, and sometimes it's hard to post them up. But I take a look at my closet and realize I need to purge a lot of items. I have so much old clothes that are too small for me. Bleh! But until Friday, get 25% off when using the code THNKSGVNG. It's like my own very black Friday.

Hope everyone has a great holiday (or great day)!

list of adventures

I had to share this. A great list to start off your own list of adventures.

frankie

HELLO AMBITION was in a newsletter that was sent out by Frankie last week. & I was so delighted and stunned.

It is funny because I am a fan of Frankie and I have never flipped through an issue. It's hard to find them here along with Lula (and Gentlewomen). So I get my fix by seeing pictures on other people's blog (like Anabela's where I first learned about Frankie & Gentlewomen!) and reading their official blog.

I love the little description of my shop and love that they mentioned that it's totally wearable. Because I would wear every single one of my items in my shop. This has totally made my year.

*Also, does anyone still find it amazing that while we celebrate the holidays during winter, Australians celebrate it during summer?

sound.

Todd Selby x Christine Sun Kim on Nowness.com.

I am not an artist by nature. So I am always in awe of artists; how their creative mind works and how they try to make us see the world with a different set of eyes. And this is one that opened my eyes to sound.

heads up, buttercups.

have you had the saint james stripe t-shirts on your wishlist and couldn't justify the purchase? well good news for you, madewell has them on sale for $48.50 (or $63.50, depending on which style you want).

I just purchased the miniquiers 10 (shown above, although that is the kid's version). oh did I mention free shipping as well? last summer when I was in portland, I had made a list of all the things I was to buy (reveling in tax-free shopping) and a saint james stripe shirt was on the list. I stopped by j.crew and purchased the meridien (for a hefty $80, ugh) and was so delighted. I finally got my hands on it and didn't have to pay the extra $8 in tax. but when I got back home I realized that there's really no chance for me to wear it since it was made with such heavy cotton. I could have saved it for when the weather cooled down but in the hot heat of summer, the idea of fall (or winter) seemed so far away and unfathomable. so I returned it. I still wanted a saint james shirt (seriously the quality is nice) but could do with the multiple navy blue stripe shirt I had in my closet. but now the opportunity came up and I jumped on it. it's not made from such heavy cotton (yeahie) and comes in a color that I don't have (double yeahie).

why I told this story I do not know. I just wanted to share the deal. (by the way, use ebates to save another 4%, I like to get my deal on as you can tell).

tumblr share #8

1 I love Saria's tumblr (and flickr). She's a student at PDX and takes such great intimate (not the uncomfortable kind) photos. I think I favorite almost every picture she takes.
2 Pretty flowers.
3 A screencap I took from Submarine (remember when I blogged about it last month?) The film still pops into my mind once in awhile. I guess it'll be one of those favorite lingering movies of mine.
4 Everything about this picture I love. The outfit, the tote, the hardwood floor and the light. All elements I like.

And here I go talking about Submarine again, but coincidentally I found a print by Jen in Scotland on Etsy. I love it.

What the heck?

What the heck and where the heck have I been? I have been neglecting my little space on the web just enough to make me uncomfortable. It's true I have been somewhat mia in the internet world (so many catching up to do), but I can't really use that as an excuse. I don't want each of my entry to be "sorry I've been neglecting..." and trying to explain my absence. That's dumb and who would want to read that?

I'll just start with an all-around etsy post. I update my shop at least once a week with no mention here on the blog. I don't want every post here to be an advertisement, so just check it out every week. C'mon~

So I'll leave you with some of my favorite items in my shop (self-promotion!) and check out my monthly installment of THINGS I NEED/WANT.
