submarine

I finally watched Submarine and it was as good as I expected. It reminded me a lot of Amelie, but narrated through a young teen boy. I loved the lighting and backdrop of the film. It made me wish I was raised in a similar place where the sky is perpetually grey and hazy. Where there's always adventure to be had. It's one of those grass is always greener on the other side because I bet those kids wish they were raised in a sunny place where everything you want is just a grab and reach away. Maybe that's why in our adult years it seems we switch places...

Good movie, two big thumbs up. Watch it. & here are some of my favorite screenshots.

polaroids.

No good excuses as to the reason why I have been mia lately. I blame Netflix (Party Down, Breaking Bad and The League). Due to excessive TV watching, I am behind on not only my blog, but everyone elses'. I have some major catching up to do.

And lately it seems Southern California can't decide if it wants to join in on the fall fun. The early mornings are cool and foggy, the mid-days are hot and ending it on a good note with the cool, brisk air at night. I don't enjoy the teasing.

Completely changing the subject, I have finally taken out my Polaroid Land Camera and plan to try it out. I really hope it works. Meanwhile here are some great pictures from instant cameras. Oh how I wish polaroid film was cheaper..

that chambray skirt

Good things come to those who wait.

The Madewell chambray sightseer skirt that I shared a while ago (5 freaking months!) is now on sale from $98 to $20. And to make the deal even sweeter, free shipping (use code, YESPLEASE). I hope it fits, this is my first bottoms purchase from Madewell. Can't wait...

tumblr share #7

The first tumblr share in October. Like I said before, my last 4 tumblrs always seems to mesh well together. Look at this sequence: clothes, interior of home, exterior of home and clothes.

1 I want this sweatshirt because it's true.
2 Lovely kitchen. I love how it's so white (with some natural wood) with a colorful rug in the middle. Ever since long ago, I had a thing for subway tiles. I think when I first started watching HGTV, subway tiles were the trend and it left an impression on me because I still like it to this day.
3 If I lived in the east coast I would hope that I would live in a brownstone, especially a peachy pink one.
4 I want each one please.

BTW, I am totally immersed in Breaking Bad. I'm almost finishing up season 3 and will need to somehow find season 4. That's why I've been MIA. Everything has been on the backburner. Will be back soon.

Give me a geometric print and I all game. Now only if my wallet would agree.

window shopping online

My weekend was unmemorable. I was feeling pretty lazy and lethargic. I am going to blame it on the bipolar weather (first day of October and it's in the 90s??). My weekend nights consisted of back to back episodes of Breaking Bad (tip, never eat while watching BB, I learned the hard way) and doing some major window online shopping.

I decided last night to cheer me up, I will be irresponsible with my wallet. I ended up window shopping for hours looking for something to buy. I failed. I did almost end up with this top, but I am not a size xs/s (medium never seems to be in stock on sale items). I did end up with a past season's Steven Alan tank top from ebay. It was really cheap which was good news for my wallet and did cheer me up.

Good thing I didn't visit Pour Porter yesterday because I might have hunkered down some $$$ on these lovelies.
